An Introduction to BARN HUNT

On Saturday, September 10th the CCWCC is hosting a Barn Hunt day at the Superpup facilities in Severn, Maryland for a day of fun, food & frolic for Cardigans and their owners and, for an “Introduction to Barn Hunt”.

Jan Huff, the proprietor, has offered to show our club what this exciting new sport is all about and will offer run-throughs of $10.00 per dog for members, and $15.00 for non-members.

Starting at 10:00am. Those interested in running their dogs will sign in on arrival and be given a number and run in order, if you have several dogs, you will alternate with other members.

There are rules & regulations as in any sport and they can be found at the official website: www.barnhunt.com.

This site contains a great deal of information and is well worth visiting. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the sport and determine if your dog has an interest in hunting for “critters.”

We have the venue from 10:00am till 4:00pm and will have the use of a grill; so we will offering hamburgers, hot-dogs and the usual sides, Albie Stepowaney has agreed to be our Chef!

This has the potential of being a really fun, exciting day. The dogs will have a blast searching for the prey, and it will afford a real picnic atmosphere.

March CCWCC Sanctioned B-OB Match Results

Our obedience team of judge Richard Street and ring steward Deb Brady provided encouragement to the five handlers and their dogs. The winner was Tara handled by Marsha Stepowany.

 

The Best Puppy as well as Best in Match was Taylor shown by Cathy Ochs-Cline.

The Best Adult was Marsha Stepowany’s Tara, and the Best Veteran award went to Judy Proia’s Jacob.

Second Annual Corgi Only CAT – May 9th, 2015!

We are excited to announce that the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac (PWCCP) will be holding the Second Annual Coursing Ability Test (CAT) on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in conjunction with our Fun Fair at Johnsville Ruritan Club Clover Drive Union Bridge, MD.

Roll Call begins promptly at 8:30 am.

Our judge this year is Dr. Kammi Kai Hefner, President of the Chesapeake Bay Area Rhodesian Ridgeback Club. Members of her club will be running the lure equipment. Bonnie Louden will return this year as Field Trial Secretary with assistance from Sue Geiger.
